Brief Description:  Engine starting troubleshooting continued

After speaking with AeroSport Power and advising them of my dicussions with E-mag Air they thought it unlikely that the carburetor could be the problem but if I had perhaps forgotten to remove the engine induction shipping cover where the carburetor mounts this could certainly cause the starting issue. I returned to the airport, removed the carburetor and confirmed I had indeed removed the shipping cover. While the carburetor was off I also checked the carburetor accelerator pump function and the fuel filter. Both were fine. I reinstalled the carburetor. Just then another EAA Chapter 65 member dropped by and we discussed my issue. He said he has seen spark plugs become shorted and perhaps this could be my problem. I quickly dropped by the local auto parts store and picked up another set of spark plugs to try. After installing a new set of spark plugs and trying another engine start I still had no joy. I'll consult with AeroSport Power again this week.
